I love the Lord of the Rings saga- both books and movies. Not only do they have a delightful combination of action, adventure, impression of depth, and wisdom, but they set the foundation for today's fantasy genre in general. If you love tales of dwarves, elves, goblins, orcs, and so on, you can thank J.R.R. Tolkien.
