Skywalker Strikes, the first volume in Marvel's new Star Wars canon, takes place shortly after Star Wars Episode IV. Here, Luke and company infiltrate an Imperial weapons factory hoping to destroy it, while Darth Vader searches for the young pilot who destroyed the Death Star. Afterwards, Luke decides he needs to 'find himself,' and journeys to Tatooine, where (unbeknownst to him) Vader and Boba Fett are also looking for clues . . .
This one ain't great, folks. A few redeeming 'reveals' at the end (which I won't spoil here) make it a little better, but it falls prey to other recent Star Wars stories- it doesn't tell much of a story, the plot is overly implausible, and the characters are poorly portrayed. This new canon of Disney's continues to be most unimpressive.
