There's more than one Spider-man. When Mile Morales is bitten by a spider and develops abilities like Peter Parker, he doesn't know what to do. But the path is made clear by Kingpin, who develops a device to open the gateway to different dimensions. He must be stopped, but even with multiple Spideys from different worlds (or 'spider-verses') helping, it may not be enough.
This movie, released last year, was widely praised, so I was excited when the local library got a copy. The animation is outstanding and the humor is great. The story was okay (a bit bizarre in places), but I was disappointed in the message- the typical "reach down inside yourself and find strength" angle so common (and theologically wrong) in today's society. That said, I'd watch this again just for the animation and humor.
