German Made Simple (Arnold Leitner)

German Made Simple is a self-paced textbook for those interested in learning the grammar and vocabulary of the German language.  In 44 chapters, Leitner walks through the basics, using a running dialogue between two fictional characters, lessons, and exercises to test comprehension.

I started this book back in January, reading a chapter here or there as time permitted and mental capacity allowed.  I think it's done pretty well; having the background in the language certainly helped.  For those interested in learning German, it's a useful aid, but should not be the only thing you use.
