-----------
After a steady downward trend, this book (the ninth in the series) picked up a bit. There was more suspense and story progression here, and an appropriate climax, even if the various story arcs continue to be treated asymmetrically (this one focused on Rand, Mat, and Elayne's arc, with very little on Perrin, the rebel Aes Sedai, or the White Tower). The main downside is the sheer number of characters and continually-disappointing glossary that fails to explain them. Five books to go.
