James Bond is back in Spectre, the fourth (and possibly final) installment featuring Daniel Craig in the lead role. This time around, a posthumous message from the old M (Judi Dench) sets Bond on a mission 'off the record,' to hunt down the head of a major international criminal organization, whose current operation is so powerful it could soon rule the world. Is Bond up to the task? Or is this one bridge too far?
This one ain't great, folks. The previous offering, Skyfall (review here), had some promise but fell short; Spectre is worse. Multiple plot leaps (or logical gaps), confusing/rushed story, omnipresent but oddly-motivated villain, and ridiculous action sequences (yes, I get that it's a Bond film) made this less than enjoyable for me. The prior three films are referenced often, so watch them first for full enjoyment of this one- perhaps that would have heightened my experience.
