How time flies. In late 2013 and early 2014, I reviewed seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Star Wars Clone Wars television show. I return now to finish the job. Season 5 of the series- the last official one of the show*- is 20 episodes of battles, deception, and intrigue. This time around, each story arc is four episodes, making for five general story lines. Of these five, four are outstanding, reaching new levels of storytelling and enjoyment. The remaining one is strange (which isn't new- other seasons feature odd episodes), but on the whole, this is far and away the best season of the series. Mandalorians, Sith, framed Jedi, clone troopers . . . a lot of goodness here. The four-episode story arc construct created a greater cohesiveness, and allowed for better/more suspenseful tales. Impressive; most impressive.
Rating: A
*When Disney bought Star Wars, they canceled the show, but several episodes for season 6 had already been produced. They were collected and released as "Lost Missions," which I hope to review at a later date.
