After Alsace (see yesterday's post), we stopped briefly at our BnB (in Lahr, first picture below) before heading out for an evening hike at nearby Burg Hohengeroldseck. It was similar to many of our recent 'ruin excursions,' and equally enjoyable. The black forest views were delightful and the weather cooperated. Parking off the main road (in a free lot), it took about 20 minutes to reach the top, plus an hour to enjoy the structure and views. Another winner.
