If you locked a group of preteen boys in a room and told them to make a movie, they'd probably make Pacific Rim. The plot in a nutshell: big monsters are coming through a portal in the ocean, so humans build big robots to fight them. Commence battle.
The effects were tight; the plot was not. Extremely rushed, it (and character development) was nigh non-existent for the sake of getting to the next action sequence. Not recommended.
